Infrastructure
|
| |
- In developed countries aging infrastructure needs to be replaced or upgraded. Europe has a mature and diversified market with significant reallocation in ownership of infrastructure assets. The US has a legacy of under-investment in infrastructure assets
- In emerging markets infrastructure investments needs are even more pronounced. Industrial development, urbanization, and rising levels of affluence have pushed existing infrastructure to its limits
- Significant demand for capital in this area coupled with limited availability of capital from traditional sources and a growing opportunity in the emerging markets result in a favorable investment climate
- Infrastructure investment show beneficial risk/return characteristics and have a low correlation to other asset classes (incl. alternatives), i.e. high-quality infrastructure assets improve diversification of a traditional portfolio and provide long-term, predictable and stable cash-flows
